Top 3 Fur Inspired Designs at New York Fashion Week September 2022

This week fabric and fluff are taking over The Big Apple at New York Fashion Week! This series of events takes place every September and February and is considered one of the biggest fashion events in the world. Here at Surell we love fashion week and we've kept our eyes peeled for the coolest fur inspired fashion designs. Which designers wowed us with their furtastic designs?

First up fashion brand Tanner Fletcher blew us out of the water with vintage inspired design that played with pastels, neutrals, and prints! The genderless fashion brand is based out of New York and owned by co-founders Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell. Their newest collection has a large range of attire including…

  • Casual Basics
    • Tank Tops
    • Floral Print Pants
    • Checkered Maxi Dresses
  • Formal Attire
    • Bow Tie Suit
    • Silk Dress with Faux Fur Trim
    • Blue Suit with Shorts and Silver Stripes

We’re obviously obsessed with the pink and blue faux fur trim on the silk dresses and cape. We live for long draped fabric with a faux or fur trim like our Wool Shawl with Fox Fur Trim. Their goal to bring a modern vibe to past decades of design and fashion is highlighted by their choice of fabrics and mix of neutral and pastel colors. You can check out the entire Spring Fling Lookbook.

The next brand that stood out to us was Tadashi Shoji. Not only did they use bright vibrant colors for their designs but the shoes from Nina Shoes included a feathery trim! This fun design aspect adds a layer of quirkiness and movement to the outfits that make them feel more personalized and fun.

These clothes scream glamor but with the comfortableness and easy to get own style that Tadashi Shoji is known for. The brand has always felt that every woman deserves to feel confident, comfortable, and gorgeous and We think these new designs nail that goal. Tadashi Shoji has also designed clothes for women of all sizes like First Lady Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson, Demi Lovato, and Sofia Richie. You can check out his new collection for yourself!

The final brand to catch our attention with their fun fur inspired looks was Neon Cowboy! Now this brand didn’t use any actual or faux fur but their use of cow print is not only fun but eye-catching.

This New York Fashion Week is actually Neon Cowboys Debut. This brand takes southern staples to the next level with light up features. Everyone here at Surell is obsessed with their use of cow print in their oversized hoodie and light up knee high boots. We love a black and white animal print moment like with our Faux Suede Gloves with Faux Rex Rabbit Fur Zebra Print Cuffs! Neon Cowboy’s animal prints feel like they’re right out of the next intergalactic western to hit the big screen.

The brand creator Asia Hall first dreamed up her light up cowboy hat at a country music festival when she wanted to give light and energy back to the audience. Asia has worked hard and now her brand is in New York Fashion week. We are so inspired by hard working entrepreneurs who remind us of our own beginnings.
